Dr. Dan Hebert
Veterinarian & Owner
Dr. Dan earned his doctorate from Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, following a biotechnology degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an internship in advanced small animal medicine and surgery. He purchased Duxbury Animal Hospital in 2013 and has led its growth ever since, expanding the hospital’s capabilities in ultrasound, digital imaging, dental surgery, laser surgery, endoscopy, critical care, and echocardiography. A dedicated New Englander, he volunteers with the Standish Humane Society, NEADS, and the K-9 Kitt Foundation.
Dr. Jessica Shepard
Veterinarian
Dr. Shepard completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2011, followed by a rotating internship at New England Animal Medical Center, where she was invited to stay on in advanced general medicine. Her training includes dental surgery, critical care, advanced internal medicine, and laser surgery. A Duxbury resident since 2013, she’s proud to care for the animals of the community she calls home.
Dr. Danielle Martin
Veterinarian
A Duxbury native, Dr. Martin studied at Colby College before earning her doctorate at St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. Her career has taken her to the Caribbean and Hawaii, but her commitment to family and community brought her home to the South Shore. She is a devoted advocate for animal welfare and volunteers her services in Puerto Rico whenever she can.
Dr. Barry Baker
Veterinarian, Exotic Animal Medicine
Dr. Baker earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University in 2012 and completed his clinical rotations at North Carolina State University. While he loves small animal medicine, his true passion is Exotic Pet Care—a focus he has pursued through extensive training in exotic and aquatic animal medicine, recognized awards, and years of hands-on experience. His background also includes emergency and critical care, where he trained and supervised veterinary interns. Dr. Baker is the reason South Shore families can find knowledgeable care for rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, chickens, and more, close to home.
Dr. Kim Dinan
Veterinarian
Dr. Dinan earned her DVM from The Ohio State University in 2008, then pursued certification in Veterinary Acupuncture through the Chi Institute and became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee. Her clinical interests include Pet Pain Management, Pet Acupuncture, mobility and rehabilitation, geriatric medicine, and dentistry. She is passionate about using advanced diagnostics to better understand and treat musculoskeletal disease.
Dr. Savannah Lloyd
Veterinarian
Dr. Savannah Lloyd was born in Connecticut and has proudly called New England home for her entire life. After being raised in Duxbury for more than twenty years, she is excited to return to the town that first inspired her love of animals, science, and community. Growing up on the South Shore, she spent much of her time enjoying the beaches, fishing, and appreciating everything that coastal New England has to offer.
Her passion for veterinary medicine led her to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Pre-Veterinary Science through the Commonwealth Honors College while also completing a minor in philosophy. She went on to pursue her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. During her summers at Tufts, she worked in the university’s radiology department alongside board-certified radiologists and radiology technicians, gaining valuable experience in advanced imaging and patient care early in her training.
Following veterinary school, Dr. Lloyd completed a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital. There she received extensive training in emergency medicine, surgery, internal medicine, and critical care. She then spent the next ten years practicing on Cape Cod alongside Dr. Hebert’s original mentors. During her tenure there, she continued to advance her skills and develop particular interests in soft tissue surgery, dental surgery, and ultrasonography.
After a decade on the Cape, Dr. Lloyd and her family knew they wanted to return home to Duxbury to put down roots in the community they have always loved. She is thrilled to care for the pets and families of the South Shore while building lasting relationships with the clients and animals she serves.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Lloyd enjoys reading, solving puzzles, going to the gym, fishing, and spending time at the beach with her family. She is also a devoted Disney enthusiast and loves all things Disney.

Dawn Johnson
Hospital Manager
Dawn’s veterinary career began in 2003, and she has worked her way up from kennel tech to practice manager. She joined Duxbury Animal Hospital in 2015 and, while managing the practice today, still works actively as a veterinary technician. She lives in Hanson, MA.
Cynthia Fahey
Client Care Manager
Cindy brings more than 20 years of customer care experience to the team she joined in 2022. A lifelong animal lover, she traded the corporate world for the work she’s passionate about. She lives in Plymouth with her family, a cat named Walter, and an English Bulldog named Izzy.
Annette Tompkins
Patient Care Coordinator
A certified veterinary technician with years of experience as a surgical technician at specialty practices, Annette joined Duxbury Animal Hospital in 2013. She especially enjoys caring for hospitalized patients and keeping them comfortable. At home, she tends honeybees, chickens, a fishpond, and a polydactyl cat named Rocky.

Born and raised in Marshfield, Kerry has dedicated over 20 years to veterinary medicine, advancing from receptionist to skilled technician before earning her certification in 2020. She has a soft spot for senior small dogs and shares her home with three of her own.
Andrea (Andi) Hieter

Andi joined Duxbury Animal Hospital in fall 2024, drawn to animals of all species since childhood. She earned an Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology from Mount Ida College. At home, she and her husband stay busy with their young daughter, two cats, and a dog.

A longtime member of our team, Jennifer has a special passion for senior pets and advocates tirelessly for their well-being. At home, she cares for four cats and two senior dogs of her own.

Alicia grew up in Carver, MA and completed a veterinary assistant program at Animal Behavioral College. Over the past seven years at Duxbury Animal Hospital, she has built her skills in compassionate, hands-on patient care. She cares for a family of Papillons in her spare time.

Mary joined Duxbury Animal Hospital as a receptionist in 2018 and worked her way up to technician. She lives in Marshfield with her two cats and enjoys the beach and hiking throughout New England.

A veterinary technician since 2022, Lori joined our team in 2023 after a career in human emergency medicine. She was drawn to veterinary work to advocate for animals who can’t advocate for themselves.

Based in Plympton, Krystyna joined Duxbury Animal Hospital in 2024 with hands-on experience caring for small pets and exotics. Outside of work, she enjoys competitive horseback riding and life with her large family of pets and horses.

Keira began in reception and kennel care before discovering her passion for the veterinary field, with a particular interest in exotic animal care and rehabilitation. She plans to become a Certified Veterinary Technician and cares for seven pets of her own.

Denisse has been a veterinary technician for 25 years across both emergency medicine and general practice. Her favorite part of the job is sending patients home healthy and happy. She lives in Middleboro with her husband and dogs.
